Edit You receive an error about missing DLL's on launch.
If you receive a warning about a missing DLL (msvcr71.dll/msvcp71.dll) when you run the game,
download this ZIP file containing the two missing DLL files, unzip the files and copy these two DLL's into the "CSI: Hard Evidence" folder next to GameUpdate.exe.
Step by step instructions:
- Download this ZIP file containing the two missing DLL files.
- Right-click on the ZIP file and pick "Extract all..."
- Leave everything as default and hit "Extract." An Explorer window will open up containing the two DLL files. If you do NOT see the DLL files, tap the ALT key, select "Tools" and "Folder Options," and on the "View" tab, select "Show hidden files and folders" and hit "OK."
- Open another Windows Explorer window.
- Browse to the folder where you installed "CSI: Hard Evidence."
- Copy the two DLL files into the "CSI: Hard Evidence" folder.
If you are still unable to load the game, copy the two DLL files into your C:\Windows\System32 folder as a last resort.
